Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District

This weekend I was quite fortunate enough to be quite busy with friends and family doing a lot of catch up. It is definitely the holiday season and company parties, dinner with friends and family gatherings are in abundance.  I was cordially invited to a dinner with a whole bunch of my elementary school friends! I was very excited and a little nervous to see a lot of them because I haven't seen a lot of them in person for over 10 years! I didn't know what to expect as a lot of things can change over 10 years and I was afraid that what I remembered of them would be quite different. People can change a lot in 10 years and I was sort of hoping they didn't.  Fortunately most of them haven't really changed much, just more mature but same sense of humour.  I was very happy to reconnect with them and I hope to make a more concerted effort to stay in touch with them from now on.  I would like to thank Steph for inviting me to her house and provided such a great meal and giving me the chance to reconnect with my old elementary school friends!

My friend also celebrated her birthday this weekend as well so I just want to wish my friend Natasha a very happy birthday and I was really happy to catch up with her and see her again.  Even though I had to wait in the frigid cold to get into the club to see her, I was happy I did. At least I was able to amuse myself by talking with a few "slightly" intoxicated girls who kept on complaining about how cold it was! All I can say was waiting in that line wasn't without its excitement and drama. =)

I also had an opportunity to go and check out the Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District.  Because it was quite cold we didn't stay too long. I was quite amazed at how different everything looked at night! I was pleasantly surprised to see how much more vibrant and lively the distillery district can be at night. They had a lot of booths with various crafts, snacks and art for sale.  They also had a beer garden, hot beverage stands and of course lights adorning many of the buildings. I wish I had more time to look around, but it was getting late and the cold wasn't helping....I still want to do the segway tour of the distillery district sometime, it might have to wait until next spring as we had some snow today and there is snow in the forecast for the upcoming week. I really do hope we have a white Christmas this year! =)
